Samuel L. Brady, M.S. Ph.D. DABR, FAAPM is Chief Clinical Medical Physicist in the Department of Radiology, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Professor, University of Cincinnati School of Medicine, USA. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (FAAPM). He is Vice Chair of the Imaging Gently Alliance, of which AOSR is a supporting organization. In addition, he is Chair of the ABR-Radiologist examination development for physicians qualifying CORE section and chair of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Annual Meeting Subcommittee.
For AsiaSafe, he has been integral and the anchor for our DRL series in 2024 and then, enhancing optimization strategies in radiological practice series in 2025. That meant very early morning live online sessions where the clarity of his didactic series made DRL, and optimization strategies practical and “simple” to grasp for everyone. He has also been on expert missions to Thailand in the recent past, consulting with the Thai government on the development of radiation dose optimization, monitoring and reduction. In the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), he is a member of TC62/SC62B to develop technical standards for the safe performance of CT medical equipment around the world.
Sam has a rare gift for making the “dark science” of medical physics clear, practical, and meaningful, transforming intimidating concepts into lessons that connect directly to clinical practice.
