The AsiaSafe, AOSR webinar on MRI Safety Call for Action Series – India Focus Session was a resounding success, bringing together experts and professionals to discuss critical aspects of MRI safety. The session was attended by dignitaries and participants from across the region.

The session began with opening remarks from Dr. Chamaree Chuapetcharasopon, President of AOSR, who emphasized the importance of MRI safety and the need for collective action. Dr. Sandeep Kawthale, President of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), also shared his thoughts on the significance of MR safety.

Dr. L. Murali Krishna, President Elect of IRIA and Executive Councillor of AOSR, presented the Roadmap for MRI Safety Initiatives in India, outlining short-term and long-term goals. He expressed IRIA’s commitment to promoting MRI safety and implementing the proposed roadmap.
Implant Screening: Technologists and Radiologists Perspectives
Ms. Sheebakumari and Dr. Amel Antony presented a detailed analysis of implant screening from technologists’ and radiologists’ perspectives, shedding light on the challenges and best practices in MR safety.
Panel Discussion: Action Plan for Zero Tolerance in 3 Major MRI Accidents
A panel discussion, led by Dr. Rijo Mathew, AOSR MRI Safety Ambassador, explored strategies for preventing thermal burns, projectile accidents, and other major MRI accidents. Panelists included Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Reshmi C.P., Dr. Pradoshkumar Sarangi, and Dr. Suvinay Saxena, who shared their expertise and experiences.
